Celebrate 175 years of Littlehampton

Uncovering the BIG history of Littlehampton this May

Residents are invited to the Littlehampton Community Association’s 175 years of Littlehampton celebrations from Saturday 18th – Sunday 19th May.

Coinciding with the 2024 South Australia History Festival, keen history buffs can join a History Bus Tour to explore their own backyard.

Departing from the Littlehampton Peace Memorial Hall, passengers will be transported throughout Littlehampton by local tour guide, Glenn Liebelt.

Passengers will hear stories of the town and learn how Littlehampton helped to shape Adelaide in the early days.

They will discover the stories behind Littlehampton’s famous racehorse, how the town was named, and learn where Littlehampton started.

Tour Guide Glenn says, “We are looking forward to this weekend, and I am personally very excited to share our town’s history with locals and visitors alike.”

According to Glenn, Littlehampton has, “many hidden historic locations with remarkable stories behind them.”

The bus tours start and finish from the Peace Memorial Hall and last for approximately 90 minutes, departing on the hour from 11am – 4pm both Saturday and Sunday. Bookings are required.
